AI can generate code, just as a calculator can solve equations. But we still teach children mathematics because understanding the fundamentals allows them to solve bigger problems.
Coding is the same. At Code Ninja, children learn how code works, how different pieces connect and how to extend what AI creates. AI is a powerful assistant, but we want children to understand what they are building, not simply prompt AI to build it for them. That is the difference between becoming a creator of technology and simply a user of it.
We teach children to solve problems and build with technology, rather than simply learn a programming language. Scratch and Python are tools we use along the way.
Across five levels, students progress from programming fundamentals towards practical skills in Data Analytics, User Experience and Artificial Intelligence, with relevant Google professional learning pathways providing an industry-recognised North Star.
No. We use our Code Ninja Passport to assess what your child already knows against our curriculum framework.
Because every coding programme teaches differently, we continue evaluating them over their first few lessons. This allows us to move ahead quickly where they are confident and reinforce concepts where needed.
Your child starts from what they know, not from the beginning.
The trial class gives us a good initial understanding of what your child already knows. We then fine-tune this over their first few lessons.
Our Code Ninja Passport tracks their skills against our curriculum framework, giving them a structured learning path while allowing us to personalise projects and adjust the pace to suit them.
Interest is far more important than being strong in mathematics. We introduce mathematical concepts when a project requires them.
Coding can be applied to everything from games and technology to art, design and music. We use this variety to help children discover what interests them while strengthening their logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Yes. Our five-level curriculum takes students from their first experience with coding through to building sophisticated applications and developing skills in Data Analytics, User Experience and Artificial Intelligence.
Students start at the level appropriate to their ability and progress at their own pace. We accept students from Primary 3 (age 9) onwards because the curriculum develops into increasingly advanced concepts.
We teach students from Primary 3 (age 9) onwards. Our classes are not strictly grouped by age or ability because each student follows a personalised learning path and may be working on a different project.
With a maximum of six students per class, our instructors can adapt the project, pace and level of challenge to each child. Students may occasionally work together, but they do not all need to be learning the same thing at the same time.
We are programming-language agnostic, but generally recommend Scratch for younger students and Python when they are ready for text-based coding.
Scratch allows children to focus on computational thinking and logic without being distracted by typing and syntax. Python then provides a natural pathway into more advanced programming and applications.
Some younger students are ready to start directly with Python, particularly if they already have coding experience or a strong interest. We assess each child individually rather than deciding purely by age.
Our goal is for every child to develop the confidence to take an idea and turn it into something they can build themselves.
They do not need to wait until they are advanced. Even with Scratch, students can begin creating their own games and animations. As their skills grow, so does what they can create — from more sophisticated games and applications to data and AI projects.
Ultimately, we want students to become independent and creative builders who see technology as something they can shape, not simply use.
AI makes it easier than ever to use technology. But there is an important difference between using what AI gives you and understanding technology well enough to make it work for your own ideas.
At Code Ninja, children learn how technology works so they can use AI more effectively — to create, experiment and solve problems that matter to them.
Our goal is to develop creative, independent thinkers who use AI as a tool, rather than simply accepting what it gives them.
Coding can be difficult to learn without knowing where it is ultimately leading. We use Google’s professional learning pathways as an industry benchmark for that destination.
Our advanced curriculum draws on relevant topics in Data Analytics, User Experience and Artificial Intelligence, focusing on the concepts that are most valuable, age-appropriate and practical to build with.
We do not aim to replicate every module of a professional certification. Instead, we build the foundations that matter. If a student later wants to pursue the relevant Google certification, they should be well equipped to do so — and we will help them bridge any remaining areas and work towards completing it.
Yes. For students who want to pursue DSA or other opportunities, we help them develop a portfolio that reflects their own interests, ideas and abilities.
Our priority is to first build strong foundations so that students have the skills to create projects that are genuinely their own. We then help them develop and refine these projects into a portfolio that demonstrates what they can do.
This support is part of their regular learning at Code Ninja. Where DSA is the goal, we generally recommend starting 12–18 months before application so there is enough time to build both the underlying skills and a meaningful body of work.
Code Ninja builds the same core foundations students encounter in school computing — including programming logic, algorithms, variables, loops, functions and computational thinking.
However, our curriculum is not designed around the school syllabus. Students progress beyond these foundations into increasingly advanced projects and practical applications. By the intermediate levels, many students will already be working beyond what is typically covered in general secondary school computing exposure.
So while Code Ninja can strongly support a child’s school computing, our goal is to take them much further than the school curriculum alone.
Code Ninja adapts to the child rather than expecting every child to follow the same lesson at the same pace. Our 1:6 classes, competency-based learning journey and project approach allow students to progress according to their ability.
We have deliberately built Code Ninja around small classes and personalised learning.
Classes are capped at six students because meaningful individual attention becomes difficult—and truly personalised learning less practical—at higher student-to-teacher ratios. Each child follows their own learning journey, moving faster when they are ready and taking more time when they need it.
Our curriculum is designed by learning experts with backgrounds in technology education research and taught by engineers. Relevant Google professional learning pathways provide an industry benchmark for where their skills can ultimately lead.
Parents also receive a written progress report after every lesson, so they can see what their child is learning, how they are progressing and what comes next.
Students work on projects suited to their level and can have different learning objectives even when working on a similar project. This allows each child to be challenged appropriately while still learning in a small social environment.
We use the Code Ninja Passport to track each student’s progress, strengths and areas to develop. Instructors then adjust the pace, difficulty and projects to suit the child.
We also encourage students to follow their interests and take projects in their own direction. If they have an idea but not yet the skills to build it, we help them bridge that gap.
Parents receive a written report after every lesson, covering what their child worked on, how they are progressing and what they will be learning next.
Progress is tracked through the Code Ninja Passport against our Coding Mastery Programme, so parents can see how individual lessons contribute to their child’s broader development.
And, of course, the best progress report is when your child comes home excited to tell you about what they have built.
The trial is a real 90-minute Code Ninja class, not a sales demonstration. Your child codes alongside our students while the instructor observes their ability, interests and learning needs.
We will give you a clearer picture of your child’s current level and recommend where they should start and what they should work towards. The aim is to help you decide whether Code Ninja is the right fit before making a larger commitment.
Enjoy the class? Your trial fee will be credited toward your first package. I
If the class is not the right fit, let us know within 48 hours of the trial and we will provide a full refund. All we ask is that you share your feedback with us.
No. We use a flexible class pass system rather than requiring families to commit to a school term.
Parents can choose from different pass sizes. Smaller passes provide greater flexibility, while larger passes offer better value for students who attend more regularly. Lessons can also be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice, so students can work around illness, school commitments and family plans.
Our goal is to make it easy for children to keep learning consistently without locking families into a rigid term schedule.
That is perfectly fine. Our flexible pass system allows students to skip a week or attend another available class.
Their progress is tracked through the Code Ninja Passport, so they can continue from where they left off even if they attend a different class.
We simply ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for any changes.
